After Qatar won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in 2010, a new era in the sporting history of the Middle East was born. FIFA 2022 is going to be the first football World Cup in the Arab world.
While the previous World Cup stadiums built by other countries were a perfect example of money spent in vain, Qatar is building stadiums with an emphasis on sustainability and legacy.
For FIFA 2022, Qatar is building the first demountable World Cup stadium, which will be built from shipping containers and will be completely dismantled following the tournament.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums are being built energy efficient LED lights and 170,000 seats will be donated to countries in need of sporting infrastructure after the tournament.
Qatar’s 2030 National Vision, which has sport as a fundamental pillar, is truly on the right path and pace in terms of sustainability.
